John Smith Quintet
Formed in August 2007, John Smith Quintet currently consists of vocalist Clare Assetta, bass player Chris Frangou, lead guitarist Andrew Frangou and drummer Adem Koci. Former members include drummers Phill Rogers and the London based Ian Grant-Rowan.
Their aim is to create new and interesting music that can change the world under their own genre 'grunk' which combines the musical elements of grunge, funk and anything else that might fall into the mix.
John Smith Quintet are known for their unique and memorable live shows and ground breaking songs.
They have played extensively around Melbourne, Australia and have built up a strong rapport with some of Melbourne and Victoria’s most infamous live music venues, such as the Espy (St. Kilda), Noise Bar (Brunswick), Brunswick Hotel (Brunswick), Barwon Club (Geelong), National Hotel (Geelong) and Ruby’s Lounge (Belgrave) just to name a few.
