Forever Road played at Brisbane
Time on stage: 4:00pm
Singer /songwriters: Jake Gilroy & Jay Seeney formed the Rock/Country band Forever Road in March 2010, after meeting at the Camden Show. Immediately the pair hit it off and decided to craft a sound that had both Jake’s country/rock influence and Jay’s metal/rock influence.
They set about writing their first EP, ‘Glass Promise’. They have released the EP which is now available on iTunes. Since forming, the boys have been solidly booked in and around their local Macarthur area in NSW. They have played as feature artists at the Australian Music Week last November at Darling Harbour & attended the exclusive APRA awards. The music has been described as a bold & edgy sound which is pushing the boundaries of country rock. They are a high energy rock band with a hint of country.
They have completed their fifth radio appearance in December & have had their music on air on local radio stations. Jake & Jay also strongly support their community by playing at various charity events and assisting in community projects when asked. The boys are always willing to put their hand up to help a charitable cause.
Last January, Forever Road embarked on their first tour. They played 14 shows in 9 days when they begin their ‘The Road To Tamworth Tour’. Shows included Caves Beachside Hotel, The Armidale Club, The Post Office Hotel (Moree) & numerous live shows at the Tamworth Country Music Festival. The Tamworth shows include the Atrium Stage, the Landcruiser stage & a show on the renowned Coca Cola Stage. This tour resulted in a great deal of exposure & hype for the band, especially during the Tamworth leg. To sum up the tour, Forever Road recorded & produced a tour DVD which is available on YouTube.
The next tour for Forever Road sees Jake & Jay embark on a multi city tour with the Scorcherfest festival. Forever Road will be playing at Brisbane, Newcastle, Melbourne & Auckland.
Forever Road love to thrill the audience with classic covers and originals & they have been described as one of the best acts from the Macarthur area. Forever Road have recently added Stephen Redman on Bass and Aaron Jobst on drums to the line up. Jake & Jay are thrilled that they have come a long way fast & believe that it is down to dedication and most of all, passion for the music.
Last January, Forever Road was commissioned by the Independent candidate for Wollondilly, Judy Hannan, to write & record a theme song for the politician, appropriately titled: Independent’s Day. Adding to this, Forever Road now has a film clip to support this song. The video was recorded & produced by Captain Pat at C91.3 & Nathaniel Oliveri. The video is available on YouTube.
Forever Road has begun to write new material which will solidify the band’s sound even further. Jake & Jay are very excited about their new material. ‘If you like rock music, you’ll like it & if you like country music, you’ll like it’, Gilroy says.
‘This material has some huge sounding choruses as well as some extremely touching lyric writing. We always try to write songs that relate to how people feel’, Seeney says. Forever Road could very well be the next evolution of the rock/country sound. Only time will tell.
