The Hedonistic Pleasures played at Melbourne - Spring/Summer 2012

The Hedonistic Pleasures

Time on stage: 1.20pm

THE HEDONISTIC PLEASURES
We embrace the five hedonistic pleasures of existence; sex, drugs, rock 'n' roll, Taoism, and indulgence in the four aforementioned pleasures. We hail from the gloomy depths of the charcoal filled skies of the Latrobe Valley, but our transformation is almost complete. We're ready to unleash a state of Nirvana and Bohemianism unto the unknowing and unenlightened proletariat public, you've been warned....
The Hedonistic Pleasures came into existence in early 2010 as a neo-psychedelic garage rock five-piece, but has since shed a couple of members, recruited a couple of members, and are now an eclectic genre hopping, mind-blowing, progressive, psychedelic, garage rock six-piece.
Since our inception we’ve garnered a strong following in the Latrobe Valley playing the Pigaplolooza festivals, as well as creating our own shows with the cream of the Valley rock scene. We have also frequently gigged in and around the Melbourne rock scene with our highly animated live shows. In mid 2011 we released our independently released debut album ‘Pleasure for The Masses’ at an event we organized at the Kay St Saloon Bar that we dubbed ‘The Space Phallacy’, it’s available at local music stores, i-tunes and at other online stores.
Our influences are as vast as the world is old. We take the aesthetic of punk and grunge, add the ambience and colour of the swinging ‘60’s, a pinch of 70’s prog/krautrock, then we throw the ingredients into our bubbling cauldron of ‘blues’. We have been told that elements of our music sound like the following artists; The Brian Jonestown Massacre, Pavement, Built to Spill, The Apples in Stereo, The Silversun Pickups, Can, My Bloody Valentine etc

Genre: Rock
